I had a chance to visit over the phone with Rabbi Joseph Potasnik and Deacon Kevin McCormick at New York's WABC AM 770 this morning. Really enjoyed talking to them, and the five minutes of fame.
While Iraq is, more or less, on the other side of the world, what I do as a chaplain is not that different from what my colleagues back in New York are doing every day. Whether it's a chaplain with a hospital, a long term care facility, the police or fire departments or the military, we are all partners in the Almighty's work as we care for our fellow human beings. I really appreciate what they do every day and I know the people who's lives we touch are better for it.
